Main Slate Rundown 🏈

Rivalry Week has arrived, and with it comes our final regular-season Saturday slate! The DraftKings main slate rolls out 11 games and kicks off at noon ET. As usual, that will be the primary focus of this newsletter. FanDuel’s main slate includes nine of those same matchups, so plenty of the recommended plays here will translate between sites -- just stay mindful of pricing gaps, as always.

This week’s board is loaded with classic rivalry chaos: tight spreads, a trio of ranked matchups, and several games sitting in the mid-50s to mid-60s in projected totals -- including one of the highest showdown environments of the week in Vanderbilt-Tennessee. Toss in clashes like Ohio State-Michigan, Washington-Oregon, and LSU-Oklahoma, plus a few sneaky DFS-friendly spots lurking under the surface, and you’ve got an intriguing slate to attack.

Again, this is the last big week before conference championships, playoffs, and bowl game slates shift the DFS landscape, so let’s aim to close out the regular season with a bang! Best of luck!

Note: Life is always a bit busier around this time of year, so there won’t be any dedicated write-ups for core plays this week. However, I’ll still point out a handful of core plays in the cheat sheet below!

To begin, let’s get a look at the 14 teams with a 25.5+ implied point total on this slate. These teams are generally in the best spots for offensive success this Saturday, so the majority of our preferred DFS plays will be found on these rosters:

Next up, we’ll want limited-to-no exposure to teams likely to struggle to score 20+ points. These teams generally find themselves completely outmatched against their upcoming opponent, don’t possess a capable offense, or have a matchup expected to be a slow, low-scoring affair, or some combination of those factors. Unless a specific player is priced down, has near-matchup-proof talent, and is guaranteed high volume, we should lean toward avoiding these four teams on the slate:

Obligatory: Vegas spreads and totals aren’t the be-all, end-all but they do give us a solid amount of information to use as our research ‘jump-off point’ on any given slate.
