Main Slate Rundown 🏈

Wow, the regular season has flown by! It is already Week 12 of this amazing sport we all love. Only three more regular-season weeks to go, which only means one thing. These final three weeks have EVERYTHING on the line for those on the outside looking in and wanting to cement their stamp to show they belong in the College Football Playoff! However, on the main slate for DraftKings, we only have three games featuring teams that are in a very close race for their spot in the conference title game. Starting off with Duke vs UVA, with both teams fighting for one of those ACC title game spots, with Duke being 4-1 and UVA being 5-1 in conference play. Then down in the SEC, we have Alabama hosting Oklahoma after beating down LSU to stay undefeated in the SEC Meanwhile, Oklahoma does have two losses; they are looking to play spoiler against Alabama. Lastly, we have Notre Dame vs Pittsburgh, yes, Notre Dame is an Independent. However, they must continue to win and dominate each of these games to keep their playoff hopes alive. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, is sitting at the top of the ACC at 5-1. Coach Narduzzi and the Panthers absolutely want a spot in that ACC title game!

To start everything off with this exciting slate, below are the 14 teams that have an implied team total of 25 points or higher. Typically, these are the teams that are in the best spot for offensive success this Saturday afternoon, so the majority of our preferred DFS plays will be found on these rosters:

Next up, we’ll mostly want limited-to-no exposure to teams that are expected to struggle to score 20+ points. These teams generally either find themselves completely out-matched versus their upcoming opponent, they don’t possess a capable offense, their matchup is expected to be a slow and low-scoring affair, or it’s some combination of those factors. Unless a specific player is priced down, has near-matchup-proof talent, and is guaranteed high volume, we should lean toward avoiding these five teams on the slate:

Obligatory: Vegas spreads and totals aren’t the be-all, end-all but they do give us a solid amount of information to use as our research ‘jump-off point’ on any given slate.

Main Slate Match-Ups

Week 11 Core Targets 🎯

QB Darian Mensah, Duke| $8,000 | vs UVA

There are plenty of great QBs to consider on this slate, so I wouldn’t be against spreading ownership around and correlating with different team stacks. I love the Duke stack this week, as this is a vital game for Duke to keep their season alive, while also playing spoiler against this UVA team. Not to mention, these Duke games have been high scoring for the majority of the season. Mensah has been averaging 23.6 FPPG, along with 310 passing yards at a 70% completion percentage, including 2.7 passing touchdowns per game. I believe he will lead the Blue Devils to victory, and it starts with him and his pass catchers.

RB Jordan Marshall, Michigan | $7,100 | at Northwestern (Wrigley Field)

Northwestern has struggled over the past few weeks against the run, giving up a total of 328 yards on the ground. This game is again at Wrigley Field and will be filled with Michigan fans, more so, as it's a home game for them to run away with. Marshall has averaged 108.25 yards per game over the past four games, while also averaging 19.75 carries during the same span. If you are looking to build mid-tier RBS in your lineup and rolling the dice to avoid the Jeremiyah Love chalk, this is a great starting spot.

WR Cooper Barkate, Duke | $7,100 | vs UVA

The Duke/UVA matchup features another high total of 59.5 over/under, the highest on the slate. So, suffice to say, we’ll definitely want some exposure to this game. After a back-to-reality game last week, I believe Cooper bounces back in grand fashion. Barkate is averaging 8.3 targets a game while also averaging a team high 91.6 yards and has 5 TDs on the season with 19 FFPG. If Duke is to pull away and win this game, they will have to get it done in the air. I love this game as a whole and believe we will see a shootout between both teams.
